30 SECONDS TO MARS: CLOSER TO THE EDGE IN MONTREAL

Yesterday, after 4 years, Thirty Seconds to Mars were finally back in Montreal, at the Metropolis, for the first of two sold out concerts. And God was it worth the wait! They played for an hour and half in front of a crazy and happy crowd. After being teased for half an hour by a see through curtain, fans were feverish to see their favorite band appear on stage, ready to rock the place!

Starting the Closer to The Edge Tour, the band couldn’t be more explosive than that! Jared Leto was charismatic as usual, energetic and generous. He spoke a lot with the crowd and even spoke a little French. The lead singer, well known for his energy and way to make the party, started by warning the fans in the front of the stage that if they wanted to take a nap, they had to go upstairs or take the door because that was the section for crazy people! He would stop the show regularly to state that it was not a “sit down concert, so stand up and jump”.  That was exactly what the crowd did!

The band performed most of the songs of This Is War, their latest full length, and a couple of notable songs from their previous albums. The groups did great; Jared voice’s was strong and the sound of the trio was amazing. The theme for yesterday was probably something like the beach because they throw some inflatable crocodile and big red balloons in the crowd! We know that the theme for the second show, this Friday May 6th, will be the Zombie night.

Before the last song, Jared took a few minutes to choose the craziest people to come with him onstage to dance and sing. It was a powerful end to an outstanding show!

Thirty Seconds to Mars is: lead singer and guitarist Jared Leto, drummer Shannon Leto and guitarist Tomo Milicevic.
