HEAVY MTL 2010: DAY 2
For the second day of the Heavy MTL festival, the event teamed up with the Rockstar Mayhem Festival. Therefore, most of the bands presented that day were the ones from the Mayhem Fest, except for a few bands!
The main stage concerts started of with Hail The Villain, a very very very energetic band – newly signed to Warner Music Canada and Roadrunner Records – that could easily fit in the likes of Billy Talent, with a heavier side and sound. The band managed to have a few thousand fans rocking with them even if it was very early in the day!
The fans who seemed to be a lot younger that day, definitely enjoyed all the bands that would follow up – a composition of bands that seemed like a Warped Tour for metal fans: Beneath The Massacre, Despised Icon, Shadows Fall, Norma Jean, Hatebreed and more shared the stages one after the other. That day was maybe colder than the first one but it sure didn’t seem like it when you saw all the fans sweating in the crowd.
The day ended with a few metal fan-favorites: Five Finger Death Punch, Alexisonfire and Lamb of God were all there to prepare the fans for the main acts: Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie and Korn who ended the night with new songs and some of their older hits!
The second edition of the Heavy MTL festival was definitely a hit! Mark your calendars for next year, as the promoters have already announced that the Heavy MTL festival will be coming back next year for its third edition, on July 23rd and 24th!
