BRYAN ADAMS GIVES A SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCE IN ST. JOHN’S
It’s one thing to be seated in the bowl and feel the stadium shake below your feet at a concert, but to be walking around upstairs and feel the floor rumble… it’s only something a spectacular performer can do.
Bryan Adams had the stadium filled to the rafters for a sold out show, the first of two in the city and had the crowd warmed up with a rolling twitter feed of their posts about the show. The last time Bryan Adams played Mile One Centre in St. John’s was 2006, and before that was down in “Kitty Litter Park” (Quidi Vidi Park) – as Adam’s quipped at the beginning of his two and a half hour performance.
“House Arrest” started off the roll of hits during the exhilarating performance which included “Kids Wanna Rock”, “Summer of ’69″, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”, “I’m Ready” and “Straight From the Heart.”
Mid-way through the show Adam’s stopped to find someone to come on stage and sing with him – saying “I know what you’re thinking, this guy’s fucking crazy.” He broke into a snip of “When You’re Gone” his hit song with Melanie C of the Spice Girls’ fame resulting in everyone in the crowd acting manically believing they knew all the lyrics. It took a few tries (“I’m just looking for one person here, what’s the trouble?”) but he brought a 16 year old girl from Corner Brook on stage, who held her own by singing and dancing alongside Adam’s and his long time guitarist Keith Scott.
He’s got the rock legend thing on lock; lasers, psychedelic video backdrops, epic guitar faces and working a crowd from one end of the stage to the other. He ended his show as we know him best, just a man and his guitar.
Bryan Adams is an musician that should be on everyone’s bucket list, he’s been a staple in radio rock music since the early 80′s – and his professionalism shows in every inch of the performance. It’s truly an amazing experience to be a part of.
