Anthrax, one of the biggest trash metal band on earth was at Heavy MTL this year. The architects of the trash metal genre will be releasing an album called Worship Music on September 12. This will be the first Anthrax album since their latest full-length We’ve Come For You All released in 2003. It will also be the first album since 1990 with Joey Belladonna on vocals which has officially rejoined Anthrax in 2010. I asked Scott Ian, Rob Caggiano and Frank Bello what we can expect from this new album and they said:
Frank Bello: 10 songs (laughs)
Rob Caggiano: We are really proud of this album, I mean we worked hard on it and we gave everything that we got. I think people will love it. Reactions are very positives.
Scott Ian: It was a long process so we are really happy with it.

That night at Heavy MTL, they played Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t, from their new album and for those that didn’t hear this song yet, I can say that this new album is really promising! As for me, I cannot wait to hear it!

Talking about album, I ask them if someone (for some unknown reason) didn’t know about Anthrax, which one of their albums would they recommend. As a band that is celebrating their 30th anniversary and that changed lead singers a couple of times, releasing their 10th album, I was really interested by what was the answer!
Scott Ian: I would say start from the first and listen to all of it. There are all so different so…
Rob Caggiano: I guess that’s the better thing to do.

They will do another show with the Big 4 at the Yankee’s stadium on September 14th, they did some of those concerts in Europe mainly and no other dates has been announce yet for that special tour. I asked them if there was a possibility that the Big 4 will stop in Montreal one day. I did get an answer but not the one I was expecting as Scott Ian said “Maybe if the bank of Montreal sign us a check, it could be possible…” (laughs)

From that answer I can only understand that we won’t be getting the Big 4 soon! My last question for them was that there is only a few tour dates announced for them, in December, in Japan. I asked them if any other dates were scheduled and Scoot told me that “nothing has been confirmed yet.”

I catched the band just as they arrived from Toronto, an hour or so before they hit the stage; I didn’t have a lot of time with them, but they were really nice and it was an honor for me to meet with them!

Their new album Worship Music will be available worldwide on September 12.
