LIVE ‘N LOUD MEETS IN THIS MOMENT
As we prepared to cover the Heavy MTL festival this summer, we decided to meet up with a few bands to ask them all the same few simple questions so you could compare their thoughts on the festival and know more about their favorite bands there and what they will be up to the rest of the year!
Here’s our interview with: Blake Bunzel (guitar/back vocals) of IN THIS MOMENT
by: Nour Haik & Vanessa Leclair
Live ‘N Loud (LNL): How would you describe today’s line-up at Heavy MTL?
Blake Bunzel: Oh my gosh! It’s one of those days that I was really looking forward to when I looked at our schedule! One of my favorite band Alexisonfire teaming up with Lamb of God, Korn… It’s a great line up!
LNL: Name 3 bands you suggest to see and/or discover on today’s line-up.
Blake: Alexisonfire and Norma Jean you definitely have to see them if you haven’t already. And 36 Crazyfists that were here yesterday; I heard their new song and I was totally blown away by it!
LNL: If you could choose another act to join the line-up today, who would it be?
Blake: I have to say Metallica! Epic would be the word!
LNL: How do you prepare to play a festival like this compared to playing a real headlining show?
Blake: In festivals we play shorter sets… so you kinda want to hit them with all you’ve got and try to make the fans walk away wanting more. You have to stand out and get on with high energy songs.
LNL: Name the first thing that comes to your mind if I say:
“Photography”
Blake: Dean Karr
“Live”
Blake: Metallica
“Loud”
Blake: Korn
“Heavy”
Blake: World
“Montreal”
Blake: Awesome people
LNL: What can we expect from the band for the remaining of the year?
Blake: Basically going out and touring, hopefully for the rest of the year. Next year we’re going to do a lot of world touring; we’ll definitely be there in Canada, Australia, Europe.
LNL: Any plans on coming back to Montreal?
Blake: Definitely. We’d love to come back. You get a different response from people in different countries. In places like Canada you really see that the appreciation is really there.
