CISCO OTTAWA BLUESFEST 2010 – DAY 10
Midway through week 2 of Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest presented a light day on the concert calendar, but very satisfying for the fans who turned out for Matthew Good on the Claridge Stage.
We saw Matt in Kingston a few months ago at the K-Rock Center, and were impressed again tonight with his set of Matt Good classics mixed with more recent releases. Matt is always engaging with the audience, and didn’t disappoint this night, with an interactive and high-energy show for this Juno award winning Canadian singer/songwriter.
Marianas Trench engages a completely different demographic, and it says a lot about Mark Monahan and his Bluesfest crew that they are able to book such a cross section of acts to please such a wide crowd on any given night. The audience waiting for Trench to start their show was young and electric.
The boys came out dressed as ninja’s and had a little fun with each other, before launching into their signature pop-punk sound for the much adoring, and primarily female fans.
Crowded House played the main stage, and Rosanne Cash played an intimate show inside the Canadian War Museum gallery.
