JULIAN CASABLANCAS: SOLO IN MONTREAL
Julian Casablancas, lead singer of New York’s The Strokes, was in Montreal last night as part of his 2010 World Tour.
Casablancas released his first solo album in November 2009, the critically acclaimed “Phrazes for the Young” and is now showing the world what he can do as a solo act.
Playing in a sold out venue in Montreal, about 800 fans at Le National, the crowd welcomed Julian Casablancas with screams, making them sound like they were 20000 in an arena! Julian seemed very happy to be on stage as he came up and started shaking the fans’ hands from one side to the other before getting up to the microphone. Playing in the dark with almost no lights on the stage for the first few songs, the crowd still enjoyed looking at Julian and his band, singing and dancing through all his song. One very positive note about that night is definitely the fact that Julian Casablancas seemed to bemore healthy and way more sober then he was in The Strokes in the early 2000s!
Julian Casablancas’ solo show is definitely one not to miss. Click here to see when he will be in your towm!
To all of you Strokes fans, do not worry! The Strokes did not break up. As a matter of fact, earlier this year they started recording their next full length that should be out around September of this year.
